What submitting to EP means for you

  • A prompt, defined decision. A first decision is typically returned within one to two weeks, and the journals publish monthly.
  • Free for readers, worldwide. Once published, your article is free for anyone to read, which widens who can find and cite it.
  • You keep the copyright. Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution licence (CC BY 4.0).
  • A permanent, discoverable record. Every accepted article receives a Crossref Digital Object Identifier (DOI), and is discoverable through Crossref and Google Scholar.
  • A fair review. Double-blind review by at least two independent reviewers.
  • Handled to a clear standard. Editorial practice follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
  • A low, transparent fee. A flat article processing charge of USD 30 applies per accepted article. There is no submission fee, and the amount is stated upfront.

The journals consider original research, review articles, short communications, case studies, and letters.

How submission works

Submission runs on the main website; this page is where the July 2026 call is announced. The process has five stages.

  1. Prepare. Format your manuscript to the author guidelines and remove identifying details from the main file so review can stay double-blind.
  2. Submit. Upload the manuscript through the submission portal. There is no submission fee.
  3. Review. At least two independent reviewers assess the work under double-blind review. A first decision is typically returned within one to two weeks.
  4. Decision and revision. You receive a defined decision — accept, revise, or decline — with the reviewers' comments.
  5. Publication. On acceptance, the flat USD 30 article processing charge applies, a Crossref DOI is assigned, and the article is published open access under CC BY 4.0.

The policies and governance page sets out peer review, ethics, licensing, and charges in full.

Which journal fits your work?

The group publishes six journals. Match your paper to the nearest scope below; if two seem close, submit to the better fit and the editors can advise on transfer.

What is the article processing charge?

An article processing charge (APC) is the fee that lets an article be published open access — free for anyone to read — rather than behind a subscription. EP journals charge a flat USD 30 per accepted article. There is no submission fee, and the amount is fixed and stated before you submit, so the cost does not change with length or outcome. The charge applies only if your article is accepted. Fees and payment are set out on the policies page.
